Trip Report – Woodpecker Trail, November 26, 2017

December 2, 2017

What a wonderful, lively and fun group with lots of curiosity! Plan A had been to explore the base of High Falls Trail in the Upper Squamish but the road had been flooded and was temporarily closed. As such, we opted for Plan B, the Woodpecker Trail in the Squamish estuary.

On her very first time participating in one of our Nature Outings, one of our participants added a new lichen species to the Biodiversity Squamish iNaturalist project! Clear photos of the top and underside of the lichen were key to identification. Way to go! The observation can be viewed at https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/squamishobserver
