The Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Squamish Bird Festival 2026!

April 21, 2026

To celebrate World Migratory Bird Day, Nature Squamish, through the Bird Friendly Squamish (BFS) team and volunteers, is organizing a community event celebrating the incredible birds that call the West Coast home, whether year-round or during seasonal migrations, and you’re invited!

This year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme is: Every Bird Counts: Your Observations Matter. This theme highlights the role of community participation in data collection, from backyard bird counts to large-scale habitat surveys. All this information helps to create effective conservation plans for birds and encourages everyone to take care of nature, too.
