Steering Committee Member

We’re looking for community members to help guide our Pollinator Friendly Squamish program. This collaborative working group provides expertise and organizational capacity to help organize pollinator initiatives, attain Bee City Canada certification, support community involvement, and keep momentum behind local Pollinator Friendly Squamish projects. 

When:

This is an ongoing opportunity with year-round involvement. Time commitment will vary depending on the activities you choose to support.

Who:

We’re looking for action-oriented individuals with a range of skills, knowledge, and interests. Areas of interest and experience may include:

  • Experience with native and pollinator-friendly plants, gardening, and growing from seed
  • Knowledge of any of the pollinators such as bees, flies, moths, beetles, wasps, and hummingbirds
  • Interest in environmental policy or community planning
  • Familiarity with the Squamish community and local pollinator conservation needs
  • People able to offer general support and contribute time to help move projects forward

What is involved?

  • Share your knowledge on native and pollinator-friendly plants, planting from seed, maintaining a garden
  • Share your knowledge on flies, moths, beetles, wasps and hummingbirds
  • Assist with Pollinator Squamish Projects
  • Help with Bee City Canada certification
  • Attend monthly meetings
